Javea is not one town, it is four. An Arenal apartment, a Montgo villa, a flat by the Port and a house in the old town have entirely different problems.
Arenal and the Port are largely seventies and eighties buildings with a high proportion of holiday apartments: running cisterns, damp in internal bathrooms and ceiling and wall fans that need replacing.
The Montgo and the urbanisations mean villas with pools and a lot of ground to cover: blinds and awnings punished by the sun, and outdoor fittings that need re-tensioning every season.
The old town is traditional stone construction: timber joinery, copper plumbing, and walls that do not take a drill the way a modern partition does.
